AAA expects to rescue hundreds of thousand of motorists this Memorial Day weekend, don't be one one of them.
Just a few more hours to go before the first three-day weekend of the summer kicks off. And AAA is predicting that "more than 38 million Americans will travel this Memorial Day weekend. That is the second-highest Memorial Day travel volume on record and the most since 2005. Spurred by the lowest gas prices in more than a decade, about 700,000 more people will travel compared to last year."
AAA also predicts it will have to rescue "more than 350,000 motorists during the Memorial Day holiday travel period, with the primary reasons being dead batteries, lockouts and flat tires."
Those things can happen whether you're on a road trip or just chilling around New Orleans at one of the many activities like the Treme festival. But AAA also reminds that you can avoid the need to be rescued with a simple bit of New Orleans auto care: "AAA recommends motorists check the condition of their battery and tires before heading out on a road trip. Also, have vehicles inspected by a trusted repair shop."
For New Orleans motorists, that means going to one of Twin Tire and Auto Care's three convenient locations - Marrero, Harvey or Hammond. Twin Tire has been the trusted, reliable New Orleans auto care and auto repair shop since 1973. Twin Tire also has a shop in Harahan for heavy commercial vehicles.
If you're planning on leaving New Orleans for the long holiday weekend, it might be time to redeem your Twin Tire Reward points for some travel perks or for some discount auto care or auto repair before you hit the road. Or, you could donate them to a New Orleans charity like Cafe Hope.
Remember, all three Twin Tire locations will be closed on Memorial Day.
