Rain-slick roads make driving hazardous. Make sure your Harvey tires are in good condition to keep you safe while driving on wet pavement.
Thanksgiving may have passed, but there's still something to be thankful for - the weather. Unlike the north which is seeing freezing temperatures, snow and ice, New Orleans is forecast to have mild temperatures in the 70s.
But rain is also in the forecast and rain, like snow and ice in the north, can make driving hazardous - especially if your tires are not in good shape. Consumer Reports says that, even when there's usable tread left on a tire, drivers could see longer stopping distances. Worn tires can also make it harder for a driver to maintain control of a car on rain-slicked roads.
Sometimes, though, it's hard for a driver to know just how worn his or her tires are. They might look okay when they're not. And, as Consumer Reports points out, don't rely on that dash light. The tire pressure monitoring system does NOT measure how much tread is left on a tire.
