Time to Get Your Car in Shape

There's still time to get you car in shape, even if you have neglected that regular oil change in Metairie-New Orleans.

With all the temptations of Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras in the past, you’ve decided to get in shape and you’re starting by taking a lunchtime jog or walk along the waterfront at Woldenberg Park. That’s a great idea. It’s good to stay in shape, or get back in shape if you’ve let things go.

It’s also a good idea to keep your car in good shape. And the best way to do that is with regular maintenance that includes an oil change. Failing to regularly change the oil reduces the lubrication on engine parts and increases the heat they undergo. Greater heat means less efficiency and shorter engine life.

“These are just two examples of what happens once your car has gone too long without a change,” carsdirect.com says. “Skipping maintenance will affect virtually every part under your hood, which affects the efficiency your car can achieve (read: gas mileage). Fortunately even if you haven't been as diligent in the past as you should have been with performing routine maintenance, it is possible to reverse some of the negative effects of neglect.”

The first thing to do is talk to an auto mechanic like the ones at Twin Tire and Auto Care. We’re used to drivers who’ve neglected their routine maintenance, so we know how best to get your car in shape. And now is a good time to get an oil change because Twin Tire has a special - $28.95 for an oil change. But hurry, because it’s only good through Feb. 28. That’s this Saturday.
